Become an Eligible Bank/Credit Union

The Supreme Court of Texas has amended the IOLTA rules to require Texas attorneys to place their IOLTA accounts at eligible institutions—those that pay interest rates on IOLTA comparable to rates paid on similarly situated, non-IOLTA accounts.

If your institution does not currently hold IOLTA accounts, please contact Janice Cappiello at 512.320.0099, ext. 108, before opening IOLTA accounts. You must acquire a bank code and a packet of instructions and forms from the Texas Access to Justice Foundation before qualifying for the eligibility process.

These institutions pay a net yield of 70 percent or more of the Federal Funds Target Rate. They are committed to ensuring the success of the IOLTA program and increased funding for legal aid.
