Frequently Asked Questions – IOLTA Compliance
|
Q: Am I required to report an out-of-state
IOLTA account?
A:
You are not required to report out-of-state IOLTA accounts. If
you do not have a Texas account, you need to certify that
you do not.
When you log into your attorney portal here:
https://www.teajf.org/attorneys/compliance.aspx
it should show that TAJF does not have a firm or any
records for you.
Please click the “I certify my annual compliance” box to certify
your compliance.
Q: What if my bank is not
listed?
A: Please choose the bank by name and disregard the city next to
it, that is an indicator of the bank’s headquarters.
Note: Chase is
listed under JPMorgan Chase.
Q. What if my firm is not listed?
A:
We only open portals for firms with 7 or more attorneys,
if that does not apply to you, please leave
the firm as “no firm”
and add any IOLTA accounts to your individual attorney portal
here.
https://www.teajf.org/attorneys/compliance.aspx
If your firm has
more than 7 attorneys, please send your firm’s contact
information to
compliance@teajf.org and TAJF will set up a firm portal
for you.
Q: What if my address is incorrect?
A:
Our addresses are synched with the State Bar of
Texas database. Please
update your address with the State Bar and your address will
automatically be updated with us within 24 hours.
Q: What if
I need my
firm login?
A:
Please call (512)320-0099 ext. 108 with one of the IOLTA bank
account numbers, for verification. We will then provide you with
the login information to gain access to your firm’s portal here:
https://www.teajf.org/attorneys/compliance.aspx
