The Texas Access to Justice Foundation, which provides grant funding for civil legal aid in Texas, has announced the appointment of Zina Bash, senior partner at Keller Postman LLC, to its board of directors. The Supreme Court of Texas named Bash to a three-year term beginning on Sept. 26, 2025.
At Keller Postman, Bash founded and leads the firm’s Public Institutions practice, where she represents states and public entities in major litigation. She holds leadership roles in complex civil actions, including the Camp Lejeune Water Litigation, a multistate lawsuit against Google, and a class action against Amazon.
“Zina’s expertise and distinguished record of service to both the public and private sectors will be invaluable to our work,” Deborah Hankinson, board chair of the Texas Access to Justice Foundation, said. “Her knowledge and commitment to justice will strengthen our efforts to ensure that all Texans have access to the legal support they need.”
Before joining Keller Postman, Bash was senior counsel to the Texas attorney general, advising on litigation strategy and overseeing matters on behalf of the state’s 30 million residents. She previously worked in the White House, on the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee and as a law clerk for both the U.S. Supreme Court and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit.
Her accomplishments have earned national recognition, including being named a Plaintiffs’ Attorney Trailblazer and an Elite Woman of the Plaintiffs’ Bar by The National Law Journal and a Trailblazer in the South by The American Lawyer. She was also recognized by Profiles in Diversity Journal for her leadership as a minority woman in the legal field. Bash was also appointed by Governor Abbott to serve on the Texas Judicial Council.
“I am honored to join the Foundation’s board and to contribute to its mission of expanding access to justice for all Texans,” Bash said. “It’s a privilege to help bring meaningful legal support to families and communities who need it most.”
Bash earned her bachelor’s degree from Harvard College, a JD from Harvard Law School, and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. She is licensed to practice law in Texas and the District of Columbia.
In addition to Bash’s appointment, the Supreme Court of Texas reappointed Pepe Aranda of Eagle Pass, Lisa Tatum of San Antonio and Joseph Barrientos of Corpus Christi to continue serving as board members. Their ongoing leadership and dedication further strengthen the Foundation’s mission to ensure equal access to justice.
The Foundation’s board includes attorneys and public members appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas and the State Bar of Texas.
